Free-speech radicalism is, and always has been, bullsh*t.

UPDATE: my exile from Twitter was short-lived. Reinstated. Sad, actually.

Yesterday, I posted this:

Today I got this:

I loved Twitter and used it a lot. I met people, I learned about all sorts of things, it connected me to the world. I follow a lot of sources to get international news and information. It has been valuable for my work, and a community of friends and colleagues, among other things. So, I’ll miss it.

I am never comfortable supporting billionaires’ playthings and participate in them reluctantly and carefully. But, Elon Musk’s reign at Twitter is just too much for me. I had a strong feeling that Twitter would degrade to the point of unusability. But, even worse would be malevolent censorship— which is was did it, in the end. I see he’s banning journalists and anti-fascist researchers. So, I’m in good company.

Anyway, I’m fine with it. I’m at Mastodon and I”ll try Post (although, see above about billionaire’s playthings).

Good morning to everyone except Elon Musk.
